Children and youth
In Kooperation mit dem Rundfunksinfonie-Orchester Berlin sowie dem Humboldt Forum Berlin entstand im Sommer 2023 eine Kinderfassung der „Oper Chief Hijangua“, um bei Kindern und Jugendlichen ein Interesse und Bewusstsein für die Kultur Namibias zu wecken. Ausgehend von diesem Projekt planen wir aktuell weitere Produktionen mit und für Kinder, die sich mit dem Näherbringen anderer Kulturen auseinandersetzen.
Our workshop formats
The cooperative way of working is a fundamental principle in all our projects. We offer cooperative workshops for school classes in which we go through the professional artistic steps of developing ideas together with the artists and give them the opportunity to significantly shape the resulting work "People of Song". We would like to open up a dialogue on the topic of colonial reappraisal in a safe space.
Artifacts as a topic in the classroom
In connection with the content of the work “People of Song”, in the course of which an artefact is returned to Namibia, the students should inform themselves about the current status of collections in (German) museums and deal with the handling of returns.
The “People of Song” artist collective supports teachers in creating appropriate teaching materials as needed.
